RICK HAYWARD self-titled LP - very rare original 1971 UK Blue Horizon release
Blue Horizon 2431 006, 1971 UK issue, matrix endings As1 111, Bs1 112; textured sleeve.
Only solo album by Rick Hayward, member of the Accent, the Christine Perfect band, perhaps best remembered as in-house session guitarist for the Blue Horizon label. Rick plays all instruments on the twelve tracks.
Cover EX A great looking textured sleeve: rear panel appears perfect, front has a small dirty mark from sticker removal, top right, very little other marking or wear; open edges have minimal wear, top edge light wear, bottom has moderate to light; very slight wear to corners; spine has some light wear which has taken part of the lettering.
New poly-lined inner sleeve supplied; original inner included (some light tanning).
Disc Fine, glossy, clean, unmarked looking vinyl; bright, clean labels, faint spindle marking and on side 2 a manufacturing blemish at the centre hole. Plays perfectly with no skips etc., sound of the music is crisp and clear, capturing the nuances of electric and acoustic guitars.
There is underlying crackle on side 1; the first half of side 2 is better in this respect, while the last three tracks are very much better; worst on the first track on each side and around track breaks, elsewhere ranging through light to faint, persistent to occasional. The disc shows no evidence of heavy use.
Graded EX for appearance and overall VG for sound.
