Scarce, original, 1990 German vinyl pressing of the superb debut album by the British indie rock band, who formed in Oxford in 1988 and signed to Creation Records.

When Nowhere first arrived in late 1990, Ride had already released three outstanding EPs (Ride, Play, and Fall) that year alone. But this seismic, full-length, debut found them delivering the elements of the shoegaze sound as artfully as they ever would. While it's one of the genre's enduring moments, it's Ride's for another reason - This collection of songs is their most focused. 
Ride created a unique wall of sound that relied on massive, trembling distortion in the vein of My Bloody Valentine, but with a simpler, more direct melodic approach. The shatteringly loud, droning neo- psychedelia the band performed was dubbed "shoegazing" by the British press because the band members stared at their pedals while they performed. Along with their initial influence, My Bloody Valentine, Ride stood apart from the shoegazing pack, primarily because of their keen sense of songcraft and dynamics.
While Ride are often mentioned in tandem with MBV, their footprint owes more to their songs than their sonics - and more to the way all four members clashed and combined. They weren't visionaries or titans; they were young writers with a taste for high volumes. And they didn't bury their melodies amongst tides of effects-pedal mayhem, either; they did it the other way around. Howls were there to support hooks, and the psychedelic interplay between Gardener and Bell's twin guitars was far more pivotal to their mission than drapes of all-enveloping noise.
This item has been carefully stored since purchase in 1990 and played, only rarely, in a smoke-free home.

Disc: Near Mint Visible condition: Disc in beautiful condition; clean and shiny, with no marks, scuffs or scratches. Labels are clean, with no spindle marks. Audible condition: Superb, clear audio throughout. Sound is bright and clear with no skips, pops or clicks and no distortion or background noise, even between tracks.
Sleeve: Excellent Sleeve in excellent condition, with no tears, bends or marks and hardly any wear. Square corners, perfect edges and a rigid spine, with all text clearly visible. Just a couple of small, faint creases and a tiny amount of wear to bottom-right corner (see photos)
Full-colour, poly-lined, picture/lyric, inner sleeve in better-than excellent condition.
