Description
For sale here is the picture sleeve only - NO vinyl 45 RPM RECORD is included.
"THE RIOT SQUAD" WERE A BRITISH U.K. POP GROUP - THIS IS A RARE U.S. PICTURE SLEEVE.
The band were active in 1965, broke up for a while, then reformed in 1967.
JOE MEEK became their producer in the later, 1967 phase of their career. Meek did NOT produce this 1965 record, but Meek collectors will definitely know of this band.
MITCH MITCHELL, later of the JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, was the drummer in this 1965 incarnation - I believe that is Mitch Mitchell on the far right in the picture sleeve photo. (Jimi Hendrix does NOT appear on this record, but Jimi/Experience fans and collectors will be interested in this item for their comprehensive collection.).
After they reformed in 1967, The Riot Squad also worked with David Bowie, right when David was recording his debut album. Interesting career this band had, for sure! (Bowie is not on this record).
I would say the sleeve is in VG++ condition overall - very close to EX!
Sleeve flaws: there is one tiny divit on the top right corner of the sleeve, as seen in photo 3. This is no bigger than a grain of rice. Also, there is some light signs of shelf wear on the paper sleeve, that you can see on both sides of the sleeve in the basic same area - on the dark suit jacket area of the guy in the middle of the photo, making a fist. There is a small "White spot" on the front cover between the words "RIOT" and "SQUAD", as seen in photo 6.
**Please zoom in on all photos and study the aforementioned flaws before purchasing to get a 100% accurate idea of the sleeve.**
