DEBUT ALBUM from this wonderfully effective hard rock supergroup featuring Ritchie Blackmore on guitar and vocalist Ronnie James Dio. This record started life as a Blackmore solo album, enlisting the help of Dio's then band Elf, but it quickly grew into a full-blown group project and led to a split in the Purple ranks with Blackmore opting to go it alone.
The material is steller, ranging from volatile epic hard rock tracks such as 'Man On The Silver Mountain' and 'Catch The Rainbow' to more evocative songs like 'Sixteenth Century Greensleeve' and the weirdly constructed but hugely compelling 'Snake Charmer'. Of course its side two that holds most of the aces in the mindblowing 'Temple Of The King' and the more reflective and bluesy 'Still I'm Sad'.
Blackmore is on fire at every turn whilst Ronnie James Dio makes full use of that distinctive roar positioning himself as one of the definitive hard rock vocalists.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks visible and only light signs of any use - can't have been played more than 2 or 3 times. Grades as top MINT-!
Cover: No signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated fully laminated gatefold cover - retains full gloss. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is perfectly straight, stiff and totally uncrushed. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 42 years after release. Grades as MINT-!
