I have been lucky enough to be able to list another one of these desirable records after selling record no: 179 a couple of weeks ago, this record is no: 177. This is a very rare UK 10" promotional only 78 rpm single by Robbie Williams, with the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra on the B-Side. The record was pressed in very limited quantities, only 500 copies were made. These were then distributed only to HMV staff in London to commemorate the closure of the famous original Oxford Street store on April 29th 2000. This record has never been available to the general public and is so rare, I have never seen it for sale on ebay at all until now. This could genuinely be the only chance in a long time, if not ever, to get one!
The record comes in a beautifully designed die cut card sleeve with old style graphics. It is dated May 18th 2000, the date this record was pressed. The inner sleeve features great photos of the HMV store through the ages along with a history of the store. On the other side there are informative biographies of Robbie Williams and Elgar.
The record itself is on the truly classic HMV label featuring the world famous 'Nipper' the dog and gramophone design seen on original 78's from the 1930's to the 1950's. It is in MINT UNPLAYED condition.
This is a truly rare and beautifully designed item and it will very rarely appear for sale anywhere. Not only a very rare Robbie Williams record, but historically important aswell. This will almost certainly be the last HMV 78 RPM record ever to be pressed officially in the UK.
Many Thanks for looking.
