Description:Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one from Robert Pete Williams. Let me tell you right up front the cover leaves much to be desired, it is in pretty rough shape. It is further described below, please take the time to read before bidding.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, the record retains the original shine with some scattered light marks AND a longer light/moderate mark (I can't feel it) over 3 tracks on side B grading by sight in normal room light. I'm sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes it less than mint. If you're that kind of collector, and after a recent unpleasant experience with a buyer from Malaysia, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I took the time to play this disc and found the nine tracks to audibly average better than 1/3 of the way between VG+(excellent) and near Mint. You can assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Robert Pete Williams Title: Angola Prisoners' blues Record: Black vinyl with original shine, some scattered light marks AND a longer light/moderate mark over 3 tracks on side B, grading by sight in normal room light. Labels: Dark with silver print. No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, some spindle marks. Trailing wax: Side 1: "MR JM Angola LFS A3 Side A (RE-1)". Side 2: "MR JM Angola LFS A3 Side B (RE-1)". Inner sleeves: A generic sleeve will be supplied. Cover: Corners with up to moderate wear. No stickers. Bottom seam split 3/4 of the way from outer corner towards spine. No pen/pencil marks. Slight/moderate general/ring wear. Back bottom edge with a 2-3" water mark pretty much from edge to edge. Rate the cover VG at best. Comments: I found the nine tracks to audibly average better than 1/3 of the way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint. You can assign your own grade based on my comments and the scale shown below. An excellent and unusual addition to your LP collection. Side 1: Comments: Levee camp blues Up to a very light surface noise with some very, very light pops (3.3) Stagolee Up to a very, very light surface noise with one very light pop (3.7) Electric chair blues Up to a very light surface noise with some very light pops (3.3) Prisoner's talking blues Up to a very, very light surface noise with some very, very light pops (3.5) Side 2: Comments: Motherless children have a hard time Up to a very light surface noise with some very light pops (3.25) Black night blues Up to a very light surface noise (3.4) Some got six months Up to a very light surface noise with some very light pops (3.25) Backwater blues Up to some very light pops (3.3) I'm lonesome blues Up to some very, very light pops (3.35)

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship Lp's in 14"x14"x6" boxes padded in styrofoam. Weight with box is about 1 pound 11 oz. Shipping is: $3.17 Media Rate (1-2 pounds) + $2.10 box/tape/packing + $1.05 delivery confirmation = $6.32.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $4.00 This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online.
