Description
Roberto Pregadio - Melodie per archi
Italian pressing, Leonardi SL.12 (~1968)
Very rare early library Lp by Roberto Pregadio on the sought-after Leonardi label. Still unkown Italian jazz session with a distinctive Gino Marinacci's "Arpa in jazz" feel with most probably the same key player involved: Anna Palomba (harp), Carlo Zoffoli (vibes) and Gino Marinacci (flute).
Roberto Pregadio's jazz orchestra supported by an entire strings ensemble with music written by library god Giuliano Sorgini (the whole side A). Carlo Zoffoli and Domenico Dell'Aera (same writer as the Arpa in jazz Lp) for the B side.
Superb mellow 3\4 jazz tempo on the amazing "Ricordi Parigini" and "Floriana". Jazzy vibes bossa on "Sole e sabbia" and "Dolce bossa nova" with the main theme exposed by a great muted trumpet (maybe Cicci Santucci?) also a nice guitar break. The whole record is good so listen to the recorded clip!
