A new album from Robin Williamson is always welcome - especially as one as good as this. 10 tracks - 7 written by Robin and three covers - The Band's "Whispering Pines" Syd Barrett's "Chapter 24" (with bits of George Harrison's "The Inner Light" - both inspired by the I Ching apparently)) and a version of a song that he has learnt from Davis Allan Coe. All are excellent and the whole album stands along with the best of his work with The Incredible String Band, The Merry Band and solo. I saw Robin at the Green Note on Thursday 28th June and he was brilliant and played some of this which inspired me to by this album which is pricey as it is a vinyl 180 gram LP, a lavish book with copies of his paintings (very fine they are too) and the CD version of the album. Shame there is still no room for his version of Motorhead's "The Ace Of Spades" - but that he plays on the harp and this is primarily a guitar album.
