Description
Rare pink label PROMO for the rock & roll classic "(We're Gonna) ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK" by Bill Haley And His Comets. Despite someone having marked 1955 twice on the label, the record itself rates a very good-to-very good plus as it plays beautifully and the sound is pretty clean and vibrant; likewise for the flip side "THIRTEEN WOMEN". The timing on "ROCK" is 2:08, "THIRTEEN WOMEN" is 2:50.
A promo for the song that shook the world. It became an anthem for rebellious youth in the 1950s and is popularly considered to be the song that brought rock and roll into the mainstream culture around the world. On July 9, 1955, "ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK" became the first rock and roll song to hit number one on the Billboard charts.
The disc has a moderate amount of superficial scuffs that do not appreciably impact the sound quality. Lustre is about average for a well-played but not overplayed disc. A cleaning will take care of a few fingerprints.
An extremely rare piece.
Together with a Decca sleeve that appears to be a bit older than the disc.
