Obscure, UK progressive oddity that features several fabulous trax. A secret fave of leftfield DJs for the bboy funk rock of "I Think It's..." with sleazy fuzz bass hook and thunderous drum breaks. Others may know this track as it was comped in the late 90s by a French guy for Beyond The Valley Of The Pornobeats. Funky breaks with cowbells and mysterious female vocalist, Ginger on "Forgotten How To Live" and "Living Reason" / experimental jazz with hard blues rock on "Ella Banta Dum Bundy" / insane Krautrock cum black psych style guitar shredding on "Street War" part 1 and John Schroeder Trifle sounding horns and vocals on part 2. Killer rhythm and horn section including Daryl Runswick (ex Bird Curtis Quintet) on bass / Bob Downes on flute & tenor sax, Harry Beckett on flugelhorn & trumpet. The funky drummer was Alan Rushton from the Ray Russell Quartet and ex Robin Jones Seven percussionist, Tony Uter plays congas ;) Rock Workshop also recorded the Black Sabbath tinged doom metal of "Ashen Besher" in 1971 but strangely, the track was never included on this Lp but ended up on the 1973 Mouse - Lady Killer grail on Sovereign label. Striking, laminated gatefold sleeve with cool sepia images of all the players and singers inside. Disc cut loud with big production sound
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) regardless of some faint light hairlines or faint light scuffs / disc cut loud with big production sound / some natural light background noises / a few soft ticks in places
SLEEVE - original laminated gatefold sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with light wear / a touch of ring creasing and minimal ring wear / some natural age discolouration / a few mini dirt spots from storage
LABEL - bright looking / mini piece of plastic at spindle hole sideA (easily removable) / a couple of faint dirt spots or faint stains
After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
