OTHER INFO : This collection comes with 2 covers and 1 lp. It was purchased from a woman who was close friends with JOE MAULDIN who was 1 of the 3 original CRICKETS of BUDDY HOLLY's band. Joe played Bass and went on tour with EDDIE to ENGLAND as a back up band member. Including is a post card from a new york hotel post marked from 1960 before he was to leave for England for TOUR. This is mentioned in the post card. 6 weeks later EDDIE COCHRAN and GENE VINCENT were in a taxi that had crashed on the way to the airport leaving GENE badly hurt and EDDIE was pronounced dead at the hospital. Also included are 3 press kit photos of EDDIE from LIBERTY RECORD LABEL. 2 photos of THE CRICKETS as they were a back up band for EDDIE after BUDDY had died in a plane crash. Also a fancy drink coaster with lyrics to a song written possibly by JOE although this is not signed nor do I recognize the lyrics, could just be a poem. She also had collected various article of the death of EDDIE, clipped them out of papers and are saved here as a lot.
COVER CONDITION : BOTH COVERS ARE VG AND VG-, ONE HAS SEAM WEAR ON SPLINE AND THE OTHER HAS SEAM SPLIT ACROSS TOP AND A PEN MARK ON FRONT.
RECORD CONDITION : RECORD HAS LUSTRE WITH MODERATE LIGHT SCRATCHES AND SCUFFS, PLAYS FINE, IS A VG AT BEST
TITLES : ALL 3 LIBERTY PICTURES OF EDDIE ARE FINE WITH NO PIN HOLES EXCEPT ONE HOLE ON ONE PIC, 2 HAVE LIGHT CREASED UPPER CORNER.
THE 2 CRICKET PICS ARE FINE AS WELL, ONE HAS CORNER CREASE TOO.
THE POST CARD IS A LITTLE TATTERED, IT A PIC OF THE NEW YORK PARK SHERATON.
ALL PAPER CLIPPINGS ARE YELLOWED FROM AGED AND SOME HAVE BEEN FOLDED.

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.
With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting. Upon request, we will give your sealed LP's the same treatment.
All records are visually graded, sometimes a few tracks are tested, or I may play the lp in it's entirity. Here's our grading system.
SS (Still Sealed) Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.) OLD TOWN RECORDS does not sell re-sealed records. If we have ANY suspicion that a sealed record is a re-seal or has sustained significant damage, we open it for inspection and grading! M (Mint) The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. If we use this grade at all, the record WILL live up to it! A mint sleeve will be just that: perfect!M- (Near Mint) A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial scuffs. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector.
VG (Very Good) A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.
VG- (Very Good) A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.
G (Good) and F (Fair) These grades are for beat-up records. We only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
