It has most notably been covered by Frankie Lymon in 1958, Clyde McPhatter in 1962, the Jackson Five in 1972, Cliff Richard in 1983, Huey Lewis and the News in 1994, and Billy Gilman in 2000. The song has also been covered by The Doobie Brothers and has become a crowd favourite at their shows. The song is unusual in that the entire song is played with a single chord, F.
This song appears in a recent commercial for Lipton's Green Iced Tea. This song also appears in the movie Matilda, in a scene where the title character (played by Mara Wilson) gleefully uses her telekinesis to move everything in the room. The Thurston Harris version appears in the movie Christine and is also included on the soundtrack.
