Description
ROCKY & HIS FRIENDS-45-“Riot City” b/w “You’re Not Wrong”-Tower records #178-Great 1965 Pacific Northwest (Seattle) Garage-punk. Most of you know the revved up instro “Riot City” from Todd's cool Satan Records comp with the same name years back-if not, driving-guitar-dominated instro with a Vox Continental organ lurking in the mix…lots of hollers and shrieks throughout…great number-B side is a great PNW punker-yes VOCALS on this-structure is based on Richard Berry’s “Have Love Will Travel” ala Sonics-has elements of Sonics/Kingsmen/Mr. Lucky & The Gamblers/early Don & the Goodtimes-KILLER stinging Sonics-esque lead guitar break-Produced by legendary PNW icon Jerry Dennon. Group was also the same band as Rocky & The Riddlers.
Condition: Record is VG+ or better…has a BIG obvious slow warp which does not affect play tracking at 1 gram on a Thorens turntable.
