This genuine first pressing has superb audio and comes complete with a very clean cover (inc two stickers!) and a pristine poster - good to see it isn't missing!

Visual grading

This vinyl is very clean and has certainly not been played too much judging by the lack of spindle wear, there is very little.  There are some faint sleeve removal hairlines mainly on S2 I would say.  They do not affect the stunning audio and they have obviously been caused due to the abrasive nature of the inner sleeve.  There are no scratches or marks and it still retains a very impressive glossy sheen.  A very impressive looking first press.

Play grading  

S1 has a little static/crackle on the spoken intro and 'Radio Waves' then displays superb audio with no clicks or pops and I heard a couple of light dust ticks only.  It plays with wonderful clarity when you consider its age and there is no distortion on the top level whatsoever.  'Who Needs Information' has a only a small number of light dust ticks on the intro and then plays with a quality that can only be graded as Mint- the clarity is stunning.  It really is an immaculate version and even the choral section at the end plays with great quality, just a bare minimum of light static.  The intro on 'Me or Him' has only 3/4 seconds of obvious static and this disappears once the vocal begins and during the entire playback I heard only one faint click.  It plays with wonderful clarity throughout and is one of the cleanest versions I have ever heard.  The radio announcer end section is superb with no 'background' at all.  'The Powers That Be' ends the side with fantastic audio from start to finish and is 'as new'.  The clarity and sonic quality could not be any better, a 'high end' version that is for certain - no interference of any kind.

The S2 spoken intro again has a little static but this is commonplace with this record and is hardly intrusive.  Once 'Sunset Strip' begins the audio is of an exceptional standard and there is no other 'background'.  I know I mention clarity a lot but that is how any record should be judged and the clarity here is stunning.  There is just a little static on the spoken end section.  'Home' also plays with fantastic sound quality with no clicks or pops, in fact no interference at all.  I am confident in saying this track plays 'as new' and grades as Mint- without doubt.  'Four Minutes' also deserves the same grading as the audio quality is quite simply stunning from beginning to end, you will not hear better.  Absolutely immaculate!  The mega quiet intro on 'The Tide Is Turning' is also super impressive and has only a couple of barely audible dust ticks.  Hardly worth mentioning really!  It then plays with astonishing audio quality.  The clarity is superb and aside from a little crackle literally at the end this is a superb version.  I cannot emphasise enough just how beautifully it plays!  Pretty impressive for a first pressing!  A stunning end to the album.

In summary the audio on this album is very impressive and apart from a little static on some of the intros the vast majority plays with Mint- quality.  This album also comes complete with a very clean cover and the poster that is so often missing.

The Cover

This is in excellent condition with only very minor shelf wear and rarely has two of the 'Radio Kaos' stickers, one on the front and one on the front.  The edges have barely any rubbing and the spine just has one centre crease and one very small area of wear near the bottom.  There is minor corner wear, perhaps a little more on the bottom two and the opening edge has no handling wear at all.  The front and back cover are extremely clean with no marking of any kind.  A highly creditable example of this first pressing cover.

Lyric sleeve and Poster

The lyric inner is in near perfect condition with just a minimal amount of rubbing on a couple of areas and I mean minimal!  The poster is in fantastic order with no markings or rips/tears and looks never to have been opened.

The labels

The labels are in lovely condition with no marking/writing and very little spindle wear.  This record has only been lightly played.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
