AFTERMATH 1966 mono vinyl album by THE ROLLING STONES

You are viewing my very rare 12" vinyl album that was released on 15th April 1966 entitled, 'AFTERMATH' recorded by THE ROLLING STONES.  This is a UK Pressing.

Released on the DECCA label, with reference number LK 4786, this is the rare MONO version that has the UNBOXED DECCA label on the red centre label and has the matrix numbers of XARL-7209-1B (Side One) and XARL-7210-5A (Side Two), indicating this is an early pressing.

Aftermath was the Stones fourth album.  Their line up at the time of this recording comprised of: Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, Keith Richards and Bill Wyman.

The album itself is in very good condition.  Both sides of the record are bright and glossy however there are  several visible surface marks.  It plays clearly  with no sticks or jumps although there is some background noise on the quieter parts of the album.  As you can see in photograph 2, there are very few spindle marks to the centre label.  I have no hesitation in critically grading this album as being VG+/EX on both sides.  Please note that this an extremely good copy of a superb album, but is not in mint condition.

The front 'clarifoil' laminated album cover is printed in England by Robert Stace.  The album cover remains in good condition although there is some age discolouration to the reverse and some creasing to the spine and edges (visible in the photograph).  I strictly grade this album cover as VG.

The album is notable for its musical experimentation with Brian Jones playing a variety of instruments not usually associated with rock music - including the Appalachian dulcimer on 'Lady Jane' and 'I am Waiting', the marimbas (African xylophone) on Under My Thumb and 'Out of Time', harmonica on 'High and dry' and 'Goin' Home', as well as guitar and keyboards. Much of the music was still rotted in Chicago electric blues."
