LOW start!.....NO Reserve!.....NO high priced ‘Buy It Now’! Guess you all missed this on 1st listing so here it is again with a lower start price.
One of the most sought-after of the Rolling Stones albums is their ‘Aftermath’ with the Shadow cover. Several versions of this exist but this is the ORIGINAL 1st Pressing with correct Matrix Numbers 1B and 6A. Stamper Numbers are: Side one – 1 / Side two – C1…..This is the MONO non-boxed red grooved DECCA label. This is Version 1 with Ariel font, Tax Code K/T on far right, copyright box NCB on top of BIEM. (later issues have this in a straight line)....Publishers Mirage Music under M.C.P.S. and Mick, Keith, Charlie, Brian & Bill in small text……(Versions 2 to 8 have different label designs). …..So this is a collectors dream, a 1st pressing, 1st issue first issued April 15th 1966. You can check these details on the website ‘Rolling Stones on Decca’. I have shown close-ups so you can see the details.
The vinyl is very good. Feint hair/paper lines, not serious. The sleeve is also very good. NO rips,splits or writing to the non-flipback sleeve.. Small crease on LH side and a little laminate lift on RH side. The back is very white and clean. (Usually covered in marks!)….this one is near excellent. Hardly any handling marks
This 'Shadow' cover has a difference from other issues. 'MONO and LK 4786 text is split into two lines on the back. (top right corner). Non-shadow covers have this on one line.The record plays with NO jumps, NO sticks, NO distortion, and barely ANY crackle. There are spindle lines as it obviously been played. (it IS 53 years old!)
The ORIGINAL 'Robert Stace’ laminated cover has barely any edge wear, NO spinal wear, spine text readable, NO splits, only one very slight little corner dink. COMPLETE with original blue printed poly-lined inner sleeve, printed on one side.
There are eight versions of this 'Shadow' album....check the details to see this is a FIRST PRESSING........Also note that all those recently sold are later 'Shadow' sleeves. NONE were a real 1st pressing. Also, a time of listing there are 3 others for sale on eBay. NONE are first pressings.
