CONDITION COMMENT (Please read this): I am very critical of condition. When opened my lp’s immediately went into protective covers for the jackets, I replaced the paper inner with a lined inner sleeve for the vinyl, and were kept in excellent shape. Many of them only had a song or two transferred to tape and never saw the turntable again. (Always played on top equipment - no vinyl grinders used here!)
I am downsizing, and these records (about 5000 in all) will be going away. They have meant a lot to me and I hope they are appreciated by their new caretakers. Good luck.
MY STORY, IF YOU CARE TO KNOW: Started hanging around WINS 1010 AM in NYC when I was 14 (1964), and when they found out I could repair electronic stuff (my Dad taught me electronics,(he was amateur radio operator, electrical engineer, WWII radar pioneer, etc.) they let me do small things around the station, for free, of course.I was hooked. Worked anywhere I could be near music/radio biz. Worked radio gig in Charleston, WV (where I also opened a record store (Sights & Sounds), imported British records for my radio program....by ‘70 I was at WVUM (voice of the U of Miami) working my way thru college with a British/British Blues theme radio show, while fixing radar systems for Cruise Line Vessels on the side near Port Everglades. I have many rare records, and they are NICE!!.
