LK 4605 An original UK pressing on Decca records from 1964. Matrix -1A/-3A. The record comes housed in its original flip back cover manufactured by MacNeil press and includes original Decca inner sleeve.
This LP includes the 4min version of 'Tell Me' and 'Honest I Do' credits 'Reed'. Label quotes 'First Published 1964..' text - copies later that year dropped this text.
Vinyl... near MINT!!! Has jet black mirror like surfaces that have that just pressed look!!! has NO scratches , marks or blemishes. With only the odd very feint line visible whatsoever!!! Only when held under a strong lamp!!! Labels... as near as MINT!!! with just a few very minor spindle lines visible whatsoever!!!
Sleeve...EXCELLENT++ Has obviously been well cared for as very few of these covers turn up in this kind of condition. The front of the sleeve is nice and shiny with a few laminate creases. The rear has escaped the usual fading and there are no noticeable marks at all. All the flipbacks are totally secure and the spine is 100% intact....see pictures Comes 100% complete with the original poly lined inner in EXCELLENT unsplit condition!!!
Recorded at Regent Sound Studios in London over the course of five days in January and February 1964, The Rolling Stones was produced by then-managers Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton. The album was originally released by Decca Records in the UK, while the US version appeared on the London Records label.
The majority of the tracks reflect the band's love for R&B. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (whose professional name until 1978 omitted the "s" in his surname) were fledgling songwriters during early 1964, contributing only one original composition to the album: "Tell Me (You're Coming Back)". Two songs are credited to "Nanker Phelge" - a pseudonym the band used for group compositions from 1963 to 1965. Phil Spector and Gene Pitney both contributed to the recording sessions, and are referred to as "Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene" in the subtitle of the Phelge instrumental "Now I've Got a Witness."
The album cover photo was taken by Nicholas Wright. The cover bears no title or identifying information other than the photo and the Decca logo - an "unheard of" design concept originated by manager Andrew Oldham.
Upon its release, The Rolling Stones became one of 1964's biggest sellers in the UK, staying at #1 for twelve weeks.

VERY GOOD : The record has obviously been played many times,but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,despite noticieable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated,perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges,spine splits,discoloration,etc.
