Well you wont find many of these kicking about on Ebay - Its known as a "transitional" copy, an original 1st pressing with 2nd pressing labels on it , it used to happen now and again where an LP was due for a 2nd press and there was a quantity of the original pressings left , they just ran it with the new labels until they ran out,and that is what this is,a heavy thick type vinyl disc with 1st press matrix numbers - XARL 6619 -2A and XARL 6620-1A - and stamper codes A: 3 O'clock 1 - 9 O'clock DUC (vertically) and B:3 O'clock 1 - 9 O'clock MA (horizontally) with early "small" BOXED labels - so as you can imagine these are very limited in number . The other thing that rates this interesting is that it comes with the original "blind man" sleeve,which is just completely out of kilter,even if it is a late 1st/early 2nd it should not be in one of these, as they were withdrawn very early on.Its possible that some avid collector has married the 2 together from different sources, but given the condition of the whole package - amazing - it seems unlikely,as the owner would have to be the most avid of collectors and wouldn't have let it out of the house/safe, let alone leave in the pile of old and undistinguished records in a field where we found it, or perhaps his son/dad sold it inadvertently - who knows -there haven't been many patricides in our area this week - so its a conundrum - 1st press vinyl - 2nd press labels - and a very early sleeve - as i said at the top you aint gonna find many of these about.

First of all let me get all of the adjectives/superlatives outof the way.STUNNING- AWESOME- ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE - IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND -ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION,and of course anyone else that does have one, its bound to be completely shagged , having been used as a skateboard for the last 40 years. Thats better makes me feel just like a bona fide ebay record dealer now.

Funnily enough this copy is most of those things above-I would grade it as a VERY HIGH END EXCELLENT PLUS the vinyl is almost perfect in looks And sheen and you have to rotate it under a bright lamp just to see the handful of ultra light marks,which appear to have been caused more by handling than play.The sound is just beauty to the ears, all the way through both sides not a click nothing but pure Stones - you wont find much better than this honest guv.
