BELOW I WILL ADD SOME INTERNET INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SUPER RARE RECORD BUT, LET ME GET TO THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS PARTICULAR RECORD RIGHT AWAY. THE RECORD I WOULD GRADE AT VG+. THERE ARE NO MAJOR SCRATCHES. THE VINYL IS STILL SHINEY AND THE LABELS ARE MINT. THERE ARE NO CLICKS OR POPS WHEN PLAYED. THERE IS THE FACTORY MATRIX NUMBER STAMP OF ZAL 9241 ON SIDE ONE AND ZAL 9206-A ON SIDE TWO. THE ALBUM IS NOT WARPED AT ALL. THE COVER I WOULD GRADE AT OK THERE IS DAMAGE AT THE BOTTOM FROM MOISTURE IN STORAGE. THE LOWER SEAM IS SPLITTING. THE TOP IS SEAM IS GOOD. THE BACK LOOKS GOOD AND YOU CAN READ MOST OF "THE ROLLING STONES " AND THE RSD-1. MOST OF THE SPINE WRITING IS STILL VISIBLE. THERE IS A WATER STAIN ON THE LOWER FRONT. I BELIEVE SOME SEAM RESTORATION CAN BE DONE BUT I WILL LEAVE THAT UP TO THE BUYER. THE RECORD COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL MONO INNER SLEEVE IN GOOD CONDITION ONE SMALL SPLIT. THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION ABOUT THIS RECORD ON THE INTERNET AND I ENCOURAGE SHOPPERS TO DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH. BELOW IS SOME INFORMATION I HAVE ACCUMULATED.
Released in 1969, the album is put together of old songs and one then new previously unreleased track, Love In Vain.The record label has the name "Promotional Album" printed on it and this is the name by which this legendary LP is known today.
The LP was pressed in the USA for distribution to local radio stations all over the US. It was also decided that a few copies were to be made in the UK on the Decca label. The covers for both US and UK pressed vinyls were made in the USA.
The US LP on London gets the catalogue number RSD-1 and the UK made Decca album is named RSM.1. However the empty cover sent from US to UK has the US catalogue number RSD-1. This sometimes causes confusion but, the UK vinyl with the catalogue number RSM.1 on the label belongs with the US made Decca RSD-1 cover.
How many did they press? The Decca version is extremely rare and maximum of one or two copies per year are sold on the market. The Decca letter that came together with some LP's states that 200 copies were made. This appears to be correct as the LP is rarely available anywhere.
Since the Decca letter states that 200 were made for the UK,it is assumed that 200 were made for the US. But, logically the United States is much larger than the UK and has more radio stations that would need a copy of the album. So, it is probable that many more were made for the US.
The two most common signs of a counterfeit are: 1) no matrix number in the trail-off vinyl; and 2) no spine writing. One should also look carefully at the cardboard of the cover. Both original US and UK have the old-style 1960s thick-stock US LP jackets and not the thinner "clar-foil" style LP sleeves found in the UK.

THIS IS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE RAREST UK ROLLING STONES LP EVER MADE - AND THE ULTIMATE ROLLING STONES RARITY. JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE. ONLY 100 UK COPIES WERE EVER MADE - SPECIALLY FOR UK RADIO STATIONS ONLY. NO EXTRA COPIES WERE EVER MADE - AND THERE WAS NO COPIES FOR MUSIC REVIEWERS, OR INDIVIDUAL. THIS LP WAS SIMPLY AND STRICTLY MADE - FOR 1 PER UK RADIO STATION ONLY, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY THIS LP IS SO AMAZINGLY RARE TODAY AND AS RADIO STATIONS CLOSED DOWN OVER THE YEARS, MANY WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OR BADLY DAMAGED - LEAVING BARELY ANY LEFT IN EXISTENCE TODAY. ONLY 2 OR 3 UK COPIES HAVE TURNED UP FOR SALE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS (AND NONE RECENTLY!) - SO THINK VERY VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE PASSING ON THIS LP, FOR THE CHANCES OF ANOTHER ONE EVER COMING UP FOR SALE AGAIN ARE VIRTUALLY ZERO!!!! SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL, THAT THIS IS THE ULTIMATE UK ROLLING STONES RARITY, AND UNDOUBTEDLY THE RAREST UK ROLLING STONES LP EVER MADE"
