Description

ROLLING STONES Special Radio Promotion LP London RSD-1 '69 VERY RARE 400 Pressed

First a note of thanks to a very honorable eBayer who snagged this LP for ten bucks when I stupidly posted it recently as a Fixed Price listing instead of an auction. He didn't have to do it but kindly canceled the transaction, for which I'm eternally grateful. Thanks, Jim!

London Records catalog number RSD-1, The Rolling Stones, the famous (for its rarity) 1969 "Special Radio Promotion Album" issued by London to radio stations in the U.S. (200 copies) and U.K. (200 copies, catalog number RSM-1). 14 tracks, 13 of them pulled from London's pair of Stones greatest hits LPs. The other track, "Love in Vain" would appear (in a slightly different version than this one, I believe) on the LP this Radio Special was issued to promote, Let It Bleed. Silver on blue London label, matrix numbers ZAL9241-1/ZAL9206-A. Nice heavy vinyl, straight and still showing gloss. Numerous marks on this record; there is surface noise but no skips. I'm confident this vinyl is still VG+--it plays fine and the noise is rarely if ever a distraction. Cover is pretty worn. Six-inch splits top and bottom of opening, a split lower half of spine. Tack holes top left and right. Top left corner looks to have been nibbled on by a teething baby, perhaps a puppy O_o Faded writing across the top of the front cover saying something very close to "Collector's souvenir--Mr. Buddy Moore." Another name bottom of back cover: "M. Murray," looks like. I'd hesitate to call it anything better than Good. Nice if it had been better taken care of but despite the worn cover it's nice to find an LP this rare in very playable condition. I'll try to answer any questions you have, add pics if requested, etc. I have no doubt this is an original copy of the release--it is not a boot. Cleaned more than once on the VPI machine. PLEASE WAIT BEFORE PAYING FOR THIS ONE IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION--I WILL WANT TO BE CLEAR ABOUT POSTAGE, INSURANCE, REGISTRATION BEFORE INVOICING YOU. THIS LP WILL NOT BE SHIPPED WITHOUT SOME KIND OF TRACKING, Priority International or Registered Mail at least. I do NOT want this one to be lost in the mail and neither do you, right? Bid with confidence. Thanks, have fun and good luck.
