Item Description:
ROLLING STONES: 'Sticky Fingers' LP
Rolling Stones COC-59100 LP, made in England, 1971. Album is play graded.
Record: VG, with some light scuffs/needle trails and a few light marks (I'm not sure, but appears to be residue from something that came into contact with the record surface). It has fairly consistent light noise, but I believe a good cleaning would really improve the sound. No warps, skips, scratches or other signs of wear. Labels are good, with some light spindle marks.
Cover: Very strong VG+, with almost no ring wear, a ding on the top edge of the back cover, very lightly bent corners and a small indentation on the back from being packed next to another zippered copy.
This is a copy of The Rolling Stones' classic 1971 album 'Sticky Fingers'. One of their best, this excellent album is a near perfect blending of Rock, Country and Blues elements. From the opening track "Brown Sugar" to the finale "Moonlight Mile", every track is a revelation.
This is a rare original 1971 English issue with the Andy Warhol designed zippered cover. The matrix numbers in the dead-wax in the run-off are A3/B4. It comes with the original paper record sleeve, printed with a UK patent number, and the printed insert with band pic and production notes (VG+ condition, with some light staining/discoloration). It's a good solid play copy for a serious Stones collector.
US Bidders please note: I usually ship via USPS Media mail, but if you prefer Priority or some other delivery option please contact me for a shipping quote.
A NOTE ABOUT GRADING
All records are graded using the 'Goldmine' grading system, applied conservatively. Grading is as follows:
M = MINT. Absolutely perfect in every way - never played. I rarely use this grade.
NM = NEAR MINT. A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other signs of use. The same should be true of inserts, lyric sheets, posters, etc.
NM- = NEAR MINT MINUS. This is a grade of my own devising. The record will show signs that it was played, but rarely. Record surfaces may have very light needle trails or very light scuffs, but NO scratches or warps. The LP jacket may have very light wear, but NO cut-out holes, cut corners or saw cuts.
VG+ = VERY GOOD PLUS. The record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner(s) who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs, very light scratches or slight warps that don't significantly affect the listening experience. The LP jacket may have some signs of wear and may be marred by a cut-out hole/cut corner/saw cut.
VG = VERY GOOD. Many of the condition issues found on a VG+ record will be more pronounced on a VG record. Some surface noise will be evident upon playing. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to be felt with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. LP jackets may have writing, tape or stickers/labels/tags. Other signs of wear may also be evident.
VG- = VERY GOOD MINUS. Similar to a VG record, but with more obvious condition issues. Surface noise from light scratches or groove wear will be present, but the record will not have skips. LP jackets will have multiple signs of wear. Not collectible, but may serve as a play copy.
