Description
ROLLING STONES ~ The Rolling Stones Story (1980 German-only 12-LP vinyl box set containing a mixture of Decca/Nova label LPs including 8-page English/German text information/tracklisting booklet & 5 stunning 12" x 12" black & white prints of individual band members, contains all the albums from 'The Rolling Stones' to 'Metamorphosis' and in a superb clamshell picture box! 6.30118. This set includes the much sought after German LP "Around and Around".
All Lps come in generic import white sleeves (hole on one side only) that were issued with the box set. I hate to see this go! You'll love it! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions re the box as this box was issued in three variations. All three were issued with 2 Red Decca labels (First Album & Metamorphosis maybe with the idea of book-ending the labels in the box or something) and the rest as Yellow/Green (Decca) Nova labels sandwiched in-between. The only difference between the three variations is that one was issued with the actual covers (extremely rare!! Good luck!) and another was issued with inner sleeves that said "The Rolling Stones Story" printed on the front of each (also very rare!). I only mention this to avoid any confusion re the plain white sleeves as they are indeed original issue with the box. There is a foam pad in the box that was used to protect the glossy photos. It is still in the box but as this pad has been buried in place inside the box since I got it in 1985 (released 1980) , the pad has begun to dis-inagrate slowly from its 32 year old age. You can always replace it. I kept it just as part of the original box to maintain its integrity as original. Also included is the original Teldec box certificate card :"Lieber Stones -Sammler" inviting you also to join a Rolling Stones -Club. To think that I used to say "...time for the Stones to hang it up " back in 1980 (actually I think I said it in 1975 and my brother said it in 1967); but then they released "Tattoo You" and the rest is history as they say and now I still love 'em! This is a must have for your Stones collection!
CONDITION:VINYL: VG+ to NM / COVER: VG+ (Glossy clam shell box has a split on each corner of the opening right side cover (2) but does not affect the way box opens or closes and is easily remedied. I won't do it because only the buyer should decide that for him/her self. It is minor and is only the result of age and normal shelf wear. The box itself is solid as ever otherwise w/a little shelf wear on the back. )
If anyone needs to see more pictures I will gladly provide them.
PLEASE NOTE!: E-BAY DOES NOT ALLOW SELLERS TO PUT IN A SHIPPING CHARGE OVER $4.00 (apparently they must think it is still 1980). So, as the S&H must be via USPS PRIORITY MAIL (any packages over 4 lbs are calculated by weight and destination by the post office) the shipping will be about or a little over $10.00 for domestic shipping (2-3 days) and closer to $45.00 (less for Canada. about 38.00) (about a week depending where you live).
I will pay for the extra Postal Insurance.

.GRADING: GOLDMINE STANDARD
NEAR MINT (NM OR M-)
A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect. NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)
or EXCELLENT (E)
A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint”. VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking.
Very Good (VG)
VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise will not overpower the music otherwise.
VG covers will have many signs of human handling. Ring wear in the middle or along the edges of the cover where the edge of a record would reside, is obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases might be visible. Seam splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won’t be obvious upon looking. Someone might have written or it or stamped a price tag on it, too.
Good (G),
Good Plus (G+)
or Very Good Minus (VG–)
Good does not mean bad! The record still plays through without skipping, so it can serve as filler until something better comes along. But it has significant surface noise and groove wear, and the label is worn, with significant ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage caused by someone trying to remove tape or stickers and failing miserably. A Good to VG– cover has ring wear to the point of distraction, has seam splits obvious on sight and may have even heavier writing, such as, for example, huge radio station letters written across the front to deter theft.
Anything below this grade would be “Poor” or” Wrecked” or “FUBAR”! I won’t sell any record like this unless it is a Beatle acetate or if someone asked for a particular record in any condition.
PAYMENT / PAYPAL ONLY: I ship items on Saturday each week and will often ship before that if needed. I will be as detailed and accurate in my description as possible so please read the entire thing before bidding! Some records , books, or posters may be exceptionally rare but are less than perfect condition so please ...read all of the description before bidding! I will hold your item for 7 days after the auction ends. I will send you an email if I have not received your payment just in case there is a legitimate problem on your end. Please don't bid if you think you can't pay for any reason. If payment is not secured I will relist the item. If you think there may be a problem just send me a "note to seller" before the seven days are up and we’ll work it out. It’s that easy. I will also be glad to combine purchases in order to save on shipping if you see an item you want to bid on that goes beyond the 7 day limit. Never a problem- just send me a note and I will respond “ yes” asap
FEEDBACK: I will leave you positive feedback as soon as payment is cleared. Please do the same when you receive your item if you are happily satisfied. If there is a problem, please contact me here (I check at least twice daily) and we will work it out. There is no problem we can't solve between each other. I used to manage a used record store for many years and I know how particular we all are and there’s nothing wrong with that!. Please remember that I don’t make up the shipping charges ; the U.S.Postal Service does. There is a small charge tagged on for shipping materials but no one is getting rich off it. .
