This album was released as US 12th album and a producer was Jimmy Miller. It features the regular songs at Stones concert such as "Sympathy For The Devil" and "Street Fighting Man", and the beautiful melodies such as "No Expectations" and "Salt Of The Earth". So many Stones fans say it's their favorite!

"When we had been in the States between 1964 and '66, I had gathered together this enormous collection of records, but I never had any time to listen to them," Keith Richards recalled. "In late 1966 and '67 I unwrapped them and actually played them." After the failed psychedelia of Their Satanic Majesties Request, and with guitarist Brian Jones largely AWOL, Richards' record collection led the Rolling Stones back to their version of America: country music on "Dear Doctor," the blues on "Prodigal Son" and urban riots on "Street Fighting Man." The last album recorded by the original band, Beggar's Banquet marks the beginning of the Stones invincibility and the end of Brian Jones. This mostly acoustic album features the hit song "Sympathy For The Devil."

The first studio album to be released following Brian Jones departure from the band and subsequent death, it includes his replacement, 20 year old guitarist Mick Taylor.

Like Beggars Banquet it was produced by Jimmy Miller and it’s also similar in that both sides of the LP open with two stone cold classics, “Gimme Shelter”, with Merry Clayton’s wonderful backing vocal, and “Midnight Rambler”, songs that have been a part of Stones live shows for the last four decades. In another similarity to the band’s previous studio album it also features a blues cover, this time, “Love in Vain”, written by the King of the Delta Blues Singers, Robert Johnson. The last track on the record is the ambitious and very different “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. featuring the London Bach Choir arranged by Jack Nitzsche and Al Kooper, late of Blood Sweat & Tears on keyboards and French horn. And finally… the future queen of British TV cookery shows, Delia Smith, baked the cake on the front cover.
