THIS IS A UK FIRST PRESS COPY ON THE UNBOXED BLUE DECCA LABEL (see photo 5). THIS IS A GREAT COPY OF THIS ICONIC LP COMLETE WITH STICKERED COVER, POSTER AND CORRECT BLUE INNER. THE MATRX NUMBERS ARE XZAL-9363.P-4W and XZAL-9364-P-3W. STAMPERS ARE 2 D, 1 1 and 1, G11.

WHAT MAKES THIS COPY EVEN MORE SPECIAL AND EXTREMELY RARE IS THAT IT HAS THE UNCENSORED INNER SLEEVE WHICH ONLY VERY EARLY FIRST PRESS COPIES HAD. (see photo 4). EARLY FIRST PRESSINGS HAD SLEEVES WHICH CREDITED THE LONDON BACH CHOIR ON you can't always get what you want. WHEN THE LP AND THE GROUP BECAME MIRED IN CONTROVERSY THE CHOIR INSISTED THAT THEIR NAME BE REMOVED AND LATER COPIES EITHER OMIT IT ALTOGETHER OR HAVE IT BLOCKED OUT.

THE VINYL: (see photo 6) The LP retains its glossy oily original sheen and it plays with NO HISS, NO CRACKLE, NO BACKGROUND NOISE. There are some careless surface marks on both playing surfaces which cause some low level clicks particularly on You Got Silver and elsewhere so this isn't a mint copy by any means but its still close to excellent and I would grade it VG to VG+ to be safe.

LABELS: (See photo 5) Both labels are excellent with no spindle hole wear and minimal 'snail trails' and no writing or other marks.

COVER: This has the stickered cover, front laminated with the rear punch hole indicating MONO/STEREO. The cover is EX with no creases and only very minimal wear on one corner, 100% readable spine. The opening edges are sharp. Overall it has to grade EX.

INNER SLEEVE: As stated above this has the original uncensored blue stereo inner sleeve crediting The London Bach Choir. The inner has no tears and minimal creasing - graded EX-.

THE POSTER: (See photo 3) The all important poster has NO TEARS, NO FOLD SPLITS, NO PIN HOLES, NO BLUE TACK or TAPE RESIDUE and clearly has always been stored in the sleeve. It has minor creasing caused by carelessly returning the LP to the sleeve but overall is an super example of the rare poster and grades EX-.

Please note that unless the play quality is specifically mentioned records are graded visually. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT ('UNPLAYED' if still sealed in shrink wrap or occasionally full MINT but only if the provenance of the item suggests this to be correct). Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.
