RON CARTER Where? 2024 Craft OJC Audiophile 180g New Jazz CR00718
Brand New Sealed LP
Where? marks Ron Carter’s 1961 debut as a leader, recorded by Rudy Van Gelder and originally issued on the New Jazz imprint. This session features Eric Dolphy (bass clarinet, alto sax, flute), Mal Waldron (piano), George Duvivier (bass), and Charles Persip (drums), capturing an early document of post-bop experimentation anchored by Carter’s forward-thinking cello and bass work.
This 2024 Craft Recordings Original Jazz Classics reissue (CR00718) is an all-analog cut from the original master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI. The presentation faithfully reproduces the original artwork and includes the removable OJC-style wraparound obi strip. Sealed, unopened copy.
