Description

From 1977, out of New Jersey, comes the rare Christian hard prog psych LP by Ron & Shirley entitled Rock And Scroll on C&C Records (no number). This LP was obtained years back from Ron PERSONALLY. Ron used to be in a Philadelphia psych band in the late 60s, tripping out on acid and other drugs and not caring what happened to him! It all changed one day at a club in Philly when Ron walked into the men's room. There was a large mirror near the door and he saw Satan coming out to grab him! Satan was saying, "I got you sucker!" Ron turned religious at this point and became a minister and recorded this LP to help spread the word of the Gospel! Ron had planned to have a religious play ala Jesus Christ Superstar with music from this LP. He wrote a book and even had promo T shirts made-it was something I and a lot of other people would have gone to see! When I last saw him, Ron had become a hairdresser! This is a great Christian hard prog psych LP sounding at times like a Jefferson Airplane meets Marcus (from Kentucky). He does this LP with his then-girlfriend Shirley. Great synthesizer was utilized with the hard driving guitar and makes for a VERY interesting and rare LP! I like the cut Bad Love Is A Demon. The other songs are Soul Winner, Sealer Healer, Christian Man, Troubled Sea, Jude, Backslider, Comforter,Love Is Real.

This copy comes with BOTH inserts-one is a lyric sheet, the other is an advertisment for the LP! Nice thick white cover with slicks glued on! The LPs never came sealed and this was obtained directly from Ron! A great LP that is a keeper in my collection!
