A 1964 Universal Pictures radio-promo staged “interview” with Ronald Reagan (one side) and Donald Siegel (other side) designed to hype The Killers in local theaters. A nice intersection of Hollywood, broadcasting history, and presidential nostalgia.

This was Ronald Reagan’s final feature-film role and the only time he played an outright villain (gangster Jack Browning) before moving fully into politics.
The Killers (1964) is a crime / neo-noir film directed by Don Siegel, produced by Universal and based (loosely) on Ernest Hemingway’s 1927 short story. It stars Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Angie Dickinson, and Ronald Reagan.
It was originally shot as one of NBC’s first made-for-TV movies, but the network rejected it as too violent, so Universal released it in theaters instead.
