Description
Rare 2-LP set EMI ASD 2321-2 of John Ogdon (piano) playing Ronald Stevenson’s Passacaglia On DSCH, an 80-minute work (continuous) for piano based on Shostakovich’s musical “signature”. Fourth LP side contains music by Tippett and John Ogdon himself. The Stevenson work is heavily influenced as to form and technique by Sorabji’s Opus Clavicembalisticum. Discs in excellent condition, some minor marks to sleeves. Plus the musical piano score (sheet music) of the entire work, 141 pages of music, originally published by Oxford University Press and long out of print. Good condition with publisher sticker on front cover.
