MEGARARE original MGM Records, very first “High Fidelity” Mono press released in Chile in 1961, with yellow MGM labels, made and distributed by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas S.A. (Goluboff Records), catalog number SG 102, with hand etched matrix numbers 60XY 952-1 in Side 1 and 60XY 903-2 in Side 2. In labels the matrix numbers are written “60-XY-952” and “60-XY-903”. It’s also interesting to notice that in Chile the songs of each side are the song of the other side in the original single (“The Big Chain” is Side 1 and “And The Heavens Cried” is Side 2). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

This single comes in the original MGM/Goluboff Records generic paper cover which is in great conditon. For some reason some past owner wrote the name of Timi Yuro in this paper cover, but that's an error, this paper cover was never used for Timi Yuro singles here in Chile. Record is in VG- or VG condition, it’s glossy and clean but with loads of hairlines and scuffs and some light scratches which don’t affect sound. Labels are in VG+ or EX- condition in both sides, some wear and a past owner wrote his name and date of purchase (!) in both sides. Sound is in great VG or VG+ condition in both sides, loud and clear, no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile) but with some constant light crackles here and there. Overall a RARE record in still amazing condition after more than 50 years old!!! Not for Minty minds but with a great look and a very respectable sound quality. And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!! A MUST to have for serious Northern Soul/Popcorn collectors!!! Ronnie Savoy’s “The Big Chain” single with this song like Side 2 and with rare yellow MGM labels!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

USD12 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
