Description

Rosa Ponselle "By Request" 6 Arias-5 Songs never before recorded, private issue LP apparently available by mail with all copies signed by Ponselle. This copy Rosa writes the buyers name, others usually just said Sincerely. Arias are from Samson and Delilah, Die Tote Stadt, Carmen, Gianni Schicchi. Songs are by Messager, Vuillermoz, Russian Gypsy Song , So in Love from Kiss Me Kate and Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific. As Ponselle says in her intro these were recorded "informally" and include varying sound quality and varying interruptions. A very limited issue, certainly her rarest recording. LP is in NM condition with little evidence of play. Jacket EX condition, original buyer also wrote his name and date of purchase on back.
