Description
ROSSINI STRING SONATAS, Dir. Neville Marriner.
Vinyl LP 1st UK stereo pressing. 1967. Argo ZRG 506
VINYL
Audio: EX
Visual: M-
First pressing stamped matrix numbers:
Side 1: ZRG-2869-1G C KT 1
Side 2: ZRG-2870-1G U KT 1
54 years old but retains sheen and looks brand new.
Test play revealed no skips or sticks. Perfectly flat.
Deep full clean sound, with no trace of distortion, so clearly it has not been played very much over the years.
The very faintest amount of background noise in one or two quiet sections, but you need to turn the volume up significantly to hear it.
A few mild pops heard in a couple of places on Side 1 (none on Side 2),
otherwise the audio quality of this truly fabulous record would have been graded as EX++ and maybe even M-,
because for the most part it sounds absolutely immaculate.
LABELS:
M-
All signifiers of the first pressing:
Large dark green labels with silver text.
'Groove' in the label area.

Laminated on front only.
Along bottom of back cover: ’Made in England’, ‘Argo Record Company Limited 115 Fulham Road London SW3’,
‘Printed by Graphis Press Limited’.
Sleeve notes in English only on back.
Sleeve structure and lamination are perfectly sound.
Spine undamaged and perfectly legible.
There is a small matt patch (top right, front cover - see photo) where a sticker once was, but its removal caused no damage to the lamination and you have to look at the sleeve up to the light to see it.
INNER SLEEVE EX+ / M-
Original poly-lined inner sleeve.
Perfectly sound with no splits, marks, writing, tears or blemishes, just a little discolouration from age (see photos).
