ARTIST(S)/GROUP : ROWLAND MYERS
TITLE : GIVE THEM A HAND
Back in 1974, Rowland Myers paid for and pressed up a very small run of his one and only album "Just For The Record", a lovely minimalistic sleeve, pasted on pics, and great acid folk/psych sounds, all self-penned and self-instrumented... pressed by Music Sound Enterprise MSE1, on the Deroy label... his only record... his only release... ... or so they thought!!!!
I've managed to unearth another record!
This super rare 7" single, has two new tracks from Rowland Myers, written, arranged and produced by him, and most likely predominantly performed by him.
It is also on what I would presume to be his own MUSIC SOUND ENTERPRISE label, MSE2, but, unfotunately no signs that this was pressed at Deroy... the matrix numbers show the MSE255P, I don't know of any Deroy records where they didn't put an identifier on the disc. Now, this is only a feeling, but there is something about it that makes me feel this is a Welsh pressing, from the same stable as the Westwood and Folk Heritage type area... I know this was sold for Bangor Students, but I get a definate feel from the label and disc of this... but obviously this is only my feeling.
The disc was a charity disc, for the Bangor Students Charities Appeal, in 1975.
Two new songs from Rowland, one being a fairly reasonable contemporary folk outing, plenty of backing singing, fairly obviously other people involved in the recording... unlike is album.
Side B... "Pandemonium"... much more rocking, psych influences... it's all good stuff!
Further information can be added on request... please ask!
