HERE WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT, UK ISLAND (ILPS 9200), ORIGINAL PRESSING (July 1972) OF ROXY MUSIC'S ICONIC, SUBLIME AND GROUNDBREAKING EPONYMOUS DEBUT LP

THE LP HAS THE FIRST ISSUE ISLAND PINK RIM LABELS WITH A-2 / B-2 MATRICES AND IS IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, DEEPLY GLOSSY, FULLY LAMINATED GATEFOLD COVER WITH ANTHONY PRICE'S CHIC AND GLAMOROUS STYLING!! (the sleeve has the original issue, factory sealed, folded under left side edge) AND COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL ISLAND PALE BLUE COMPANY INNER SLEEVE (now becoming a bit of a rarity in itself)

Falling halfway between musical primitivism and art rock ambition, Roxy Music's eponymous debut remains a startling redefinition of rock's boundaries. Simultaneously embracing kitschy glamour and avant-pop, Roxy Music shimmers with seductive style and pulsates with disturbing synthetic textures. Although no musician demonstrates much technical skill at this point, they are driven by boundless imagination -- Brian Eno's synthesized "treatments" exploit electronic instruments as electronics, instead of trying to shoehorn them into conventional acoustic patterns. Similarly, Bryan Ferry finds that his vampiric croon is at its most effective when it twists conventional melodies, Phil Manzanera's guitar is terse and unpredictable, while Andy Mackay's saxophone subverts rock & roll clichés by alternating R&B honking with atonal flourishes. But what makes Roxy Music such a confident, astonishing debut is how these primitive avant-garde tendencies are married to full-fledged songs, whether it's the free-form, structure-bending "Remake/Remodel" or the sleek glam of "Virginia Plain," the debut single added to later editions of the album. That was the trick that elevated Roxy Music from an art school project to the most adventurous rock band of the early '70s.

LABELS: The labels are in GREAT condition - CLEAN, BRIGHT and UNMARKED with just some light spindle traces evident when angled under a bright light
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. There are some superficial (very) light marks, NONE of which are of any major audio consequence WHATSOEVER!!!
VINYL Audio: The audio is absolutely OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, STRONG, VIBRANT SOUND. There are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps and barley ANY surface noise (some light crackle during the quiet parts of 'The BOB'). The audio has GREAT DEPTH AND CLARITY - TREMENDOUSLY CLEAR AND SHARP and the LP sounds STUNNING with NO discernible groove-wear or distortion. Must be very critically graded a strong EXCELLENT for audio and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards
SLEEVE: The CHIC, GLOSSY gatefold cover is BEAUTIFUL condition!!!!! The surfaces have a DEEP, DEEP GLOSSY SHEEN with NO rubbing and SHARP, CRISP edges and the spine is unworn with all text CLEAR and BOLD. BEAUTIFUL GLAMOROUS SLEEVE!!
