LP is in Near Mint condition.
The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without scuffs,or scratches of any kind.There a few inaudible sleeve marks.   The fidelity is superb,with no distortion, pops, clicks,or background noise of any kind.


Jacket is in NM/EX+ condition. Original heavy  jacket is in nice condition. There are virtually no marks, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind.There is light corner wear, as in image.This lp is stored in the original inner sleeve. Roy Ayers is a famous name, having recorded many disco and r&b hits with his band Ubiquity and being one of the inspirations for acid jazz and the use of jazz samples on rap recordings. But when he first started out in Los Angeles, he was one of the most promising young vibraphonists in jazz and had the potential to be one of the leaders of hard bop. He began on the vibes comparatively late, in 1957 when he was 17, but within a few years had become a significant part of the West Coast jazz scene. He worked with Curtis Amy, Jack Wilson, the Gerald Wilson Orchestra and Teddy Edwards before having an important four-year period (1966-70) with Herbie Mann. West Coast Vibes was his first album as a leader, a pair of 1963 sets that showcase Ayers in a quartet with pianist Jack Wilson and a quintet with Wilson and Curtis Amy (tenor and soprano). The only one of his albums to feature Ayers in his early straightahead period (his next record as a leader would be in 1967), this unique and highly enjoyable outing has Ayers playing standards, a few originals and modern mainstream jazz of the period, showing why he was rated so high as a 22-year old.
