Description
Up for auction is ultra-clean copy of the Roy Haynes (with Booker Ervin) classic hard bop ablum "Cracklin'" released on New Jazz Records (NJ 8286). This is a genuine original, mono deep groove first pressing with RVG stamped in the run-out. Matching deep groove labels with correct Bergenfield, NJ address match the same on the back of the cover. This copy is as nice as they come. The cover is in fantastic shape. High gloss lamination is completely intact, no bubbles, no separations or lifts. The white part of the lamination is very white, no age discolored like many copies of album floating around here on ebay. Seams are strong, intact, and show no signs of wear, no seam splits, no cracking, no chipping. Corners are sharp, nice and square, except lower right one does have a tiny bump to it (see photo). Back cover is bone white, clean. No age discoloration or spotting. No writing anywhere. "Preview Copy" stamped in upper right corner. Overall, I'd grade this cover Near Mint Minus (NM-), though many would call it Mint. The vinyl is also in top notch condition. It looks virtually un-played, very few signs of previous handling. No marks around spindle holes, indicating little, if any, previous playing. Surface shine bright and glisten in the light, no rubbing or use loss to the original sheen. No obvious scratches, no scuffs, no marks of any kind that I can see. I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint Plus (NM+). I have play tested this record, and it sounds beautifully clean. Nothing that will distract you from the dynamism of the beautiful, full-bodied mono sound reproduction. 100% satisfaction guaranteed, no risk buying. I can't imagine finding another copy as nice as this one to "trade up" or improve upon this. This album has become more sought-after than ever before, and here's your opportunity to get one of the best copies out there while you still can.
