Description
ROY ORBISON Rock House SUN LP 1260 released in 1961 containing early Sun singles by Roy Orbison credited to Sam Phillips, but Roy wrote the material.
AMAZING condition record and sleeve, I have never come across such a clean copy! These are typically beat up and scrtched, this one looks to have been played once.
The runouts on the vinyl indicates this was pressed at the Monarch Pressing Plant in Las Angeles California, as indicated by the "MR" stamped in the dead wax.
VINYL in NEAR MINT condition, one tiny spindle mark, barely visible super light paper scuffs on surface, other than that, near mint and practically flawless!
COVER in VG++ condition, thick U.S. style cardboard with glossy, laminated front cover. Corners are tight, seams and spine beautiful, the back has some yellowing/staining. There is a "Music World" sticker on back from Yuba City, California.
Comes in new mo-fi sleeve.
Record will be packaged in proper mailer with vinyl removed to prevent splitting.
Notes
Label variation -- see pics.Roy Orbison at the Rock House is the first album by Roy Orbison. It was released in 1961 by Sun Records at a time when Orbison had already moved to the Monument label but had not yet put out an album. Sun Records owner Sam Phillips had a collection of songs Orbison had recorded at Sun between 1956 and '58.
Sam Phillips (2) is here credited Written-By for many of the songs, but actually are all these songs written by Roy Orbison.
