Description
"I'm Gonna Do My Thing" / "My Baby Knows Best", Antone 5514.
This is Rozaa's FIRST record, cut sometime in the early 1960s when she was about 16 years old with legendary (notorious?) Detroit soul producer Mike Hanks for the Antone label. Rozaa says she's not sure it EVER came out at all, and I've certainly never seen it.
This record kicks in all the ways you want from a classic Detroit Northern Soul record; stinging guitars, killer drums, ragged-but-right horns, and of course Rozaa's badass soul-shouter vocals throughout. There are several great breaks here, especially on the defiant "I'm Gonna Do My Thing" but also on the equally bad (as in gooooood) "My Baby Knows Best", which also features some enthusiastic backing vocals.
The record is Near Mint. Appears unplayed.
(I never use "Mint" for anything but a sealed record)

*Note: some of you may have noticed I've put a few of these up in the last couple of months. This is the last one I've got, though Rozaa says she may have one more if she can find it. That will most likely be it though.
