Description
Rudolf Ganz ( 24 February 1877 in Zürich - 2 August 1972 in Chicago ) was a Swiss-born American pianist and composer. Studied music first as a cellist with Friedrich Hegar, then as pianist with Robert Freund in Zürich, also composition with Charles Blanchet at the Lausanne Conservatory. From 1897 to 1898 he studied piano with F. Blumer in Strasbourg and in 1899 took a course with Ferrucio Busoni in Berlin. Rudolph Ganz settled to the States, was from 1921 to 1927 the conductor of the St.Louis Symphony Orchestra, in 1924 he teached at the University of Missouri and from 1928 at the Chicago Musical College, serving as president from 1934 to 1958.
10" acoustic British Pathé 10463, needle cut: Paderewski, Menuette in G major op.14 No 1 / Rubinstein, Melody in F major op. 3 No 1, matrices N66505-2 and 66444-2, recorded June 6, 1923.
Condition: 2-3, also a very fine haircrack 1 cm, minimal audible

1-2 = top copy, no traces of use - virtually as new
2 = excellent copy, few light non-sounding rubs/marks

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible
3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible
4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible
5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
