Description

So I have seen probably a 1000+ 78's over the years, and this is one of the most well cared for nicest condition 78's I have ever seen.
A meticulous collector of 78's had part of his collection donated after he passed away, and I happened to get a few of them (most of the other 78's I am listing come right out of his collection).
I digress, this is the original 1953 shellac Sun Records 10' Rufus "Hound Dog" Thomas Jr. Bear Cat / Walking In The Rain 78. Gorgeous pristine copy that may be one of the finest examples out there, 100% satisfaction or your money back! I guarantee this will impress even the most selective and stringent of 78 collectors.
Side A: Bear Cat
Side B: Walking In The Rain
Shellac Condition: E+ (Since I have never seen a brand new 78, I can't say what one may look like, I imagine very much like this one here, I was astonished by how immaculate it looks. I did not play test it, I wanted to preserve it as found, that is how impressive it looks!)
Sleeve Condition: Generic Sleeve from previous owner including a tag he had typed up and put on the sleeve to indicate the artist, see photos for more detail)
Label: Sun Record Company
Year: 1953
Catalog #: 181

78 Grading:
E+ : very little to no groove wear, no scratches or scuffs, a top-shelf pristine copy
E: very minor groove wear, very tiny amount of scratches or scuffs, an excellent copy
E - : Above average copy with a slight degree of groove wear, some scratches or scuffs
V+ : Well-Played and noticeable, still enjoyable!
V : Well-Worn with significant wear, listenable with pronounced surface noise
V - : A pretty bad copy that may only be partially listenable
P: Essentially destroyed, I wouldn't sell anything in this category unless rarity demanded it
Shipping of 78's is done with a paramount emphasis on making sure it arrives to you safe and sound. 78's are packed sandwiched between 4 pieces of cardboard inside a package with Styrofoam, always with fragile stamped predominantly on the box. You can rest assured this will arrive safe and secure!

For Your Information:
This Week I am selling "tough pulls", very rare 78's, 45's, LP's, and even a Reel To Reel. The focus is rare doo-wop, oldies, blues, rockabilly, jazz and more, all originals from the 1950's and 1960's. Please feel more then free to ask any and all questions. I have been collecting vinyl for near a decade, so bid with confidence, I grade conservatively with the best accuracy. This is to say I'm one of you, I know what a collector expects being one myself, and that is the record exactly as described (or better!) with no gimmicks. You will be most pleased :)

Mission Statement:

Kind Regards, Carrtanyon

Grading: (I always strive more maximum accuracy, check my feedback, I am record collector myself, so being an honest accurate grader is of paramount importance to me :).
M - Sealed record that looks absolutely brand new
NM- Looks like it was played only a handful of times, practically brand new. The cover will be crisp and stunning
EX - Looks close to new, might have a micro paper scuff, this is a lot of people's NM-. The cover should look solid with no damage.
VG+ - Light paper scuffs that do not affect play, perhaps only the lightest of light surface noise in beginning passages. The cover should be intact without any significant visual impairment
VG - The paper scuffs increase, this will begin to have surface noise, but will not be predominant. The cover may have problems as noted
VG- = will not be visually appealing, but will play through, surface noise will be more apparent, and will not have feeler scuffs. The cover may have significant seam splitting or other problems as noted.
G+ = the record must at least play through, surface noise may be predominant but will not overpower the music. The cover will have very significant problems that will be noted.
G Poor/fair = I don't sell anything at this level unless the rarity demands it. The problems will be overpowering and noted.
