RUNNING MAN – Same ORIG RCA Neon LP / NE 11 (UK, Stereo, 1972)
Happy to present this super rare Neon LP featuring Ray Russell and crew. Along with the Raw Material LP, certainly one of the very hardest Neon titles to find and although, on this copy, the sleeve has flaws, I can bring the vinyl to you in tremendous condition.
The non-laminated gatefold sleeve was made in England by Howards Printers Ltd and is a solid example lying perfectly flat without ripples but with the following imperfections: 2 tears/patches of paper loss to the front which have been repaired and filled in to match the colour scheme. These are fairly unobtrusive but please check the photos; the rear shows some general rubbing with a few light scrapes and there is a noticeable ring impression here; moderate edge and corner wear; slight ruffling of the opening edges; one crease to the front and some mild rubbing to the front. The spine is slightly rubbed on the edges but not compressed and all text is still fully legible. There’s no splits to any edges and no writing or stickers with the inner gate looking particularly fresh and clean. So, overall not perfect but not too bad and graded PROPERLY at VG- (Very Good Minus).
The seminal black Neon labels are in super, near perfect condition with NO discernible spindle trails. There is no writing, dirt, residue or other damage. Brilliant pair of vintage UK Neon labels!
The medium weight vinyl is also in lovely condition. Cosmetically it shows 2small (and very light) scuffs to one side and a 2cm light surface scuff to the other. Add to this some very fine, very faint removal traces and that’s the only blemishes. There are NO scratches, nicks, hairlines, craters or embedded dirt. It looks great and is a worthy of a keeper place in any Neon collection. Grades a true EX (Excellent). IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays like a dream! There’s barely a soft tick throughout and one thing I noticed was just how good the production is on this LP. It sounds amazingly clear and crisp and I can bring it to you with NO audio faults or nasties whatsoever. That means NO snap, crackle or pop – no clicks, no hiss, no distortion and no loss of fidelity. It really does sound fabulous and the audio grade at least matches if not exceeds the visual one.
Supplied in its original Neon poly-lined black inner which is in fine condition except the poly is coming slightly loose inside.
So hard to locate especially as a UK press! No reserve.
