RUSH SALE

Having collected RUSH memorabilia for over 210 Dog Years, I have to ask, “Where do I go from here?” Having been made redundant recently, no longer a WORKING MAN, my bowl is no longer THE LARGER BOWL. With the up and coming “time machine” TOUR, the only credible solution is to sell off some of my prized collection to raise some of THE BIG MONEY, for food on my table. Maybe if THE STARS LOOK DOWN kindly, there may be a little left over for that TOUR in the time machine to YYZ?!!

…..ever the optimist, and with a HEART FULL OF SOUL, I’ll put on the Bravest Face, knowing I’m letting go some of my real RUSH treasures!!L!!

What would really be Madrigal, would be selling to someone like TOM SAWYER, who, lets FACE UP to it, he’s NOBODY’S HERO, but at least he understood the true meaning of LOSING IT, or better still, what it means to Fly By Night to YYZ, (volcanic ash permitting)!! True RUSH fans will too, its SECOND NATURE!

Stunning, Classic, Rare as Hell!!!

Since their formation in 1969, it took the original members of Rush, Alex, Geddy and John Rutsey, (Neil Peart’s predecessor) 5 years for this great debut album to be released. Unable to secure a record company deal, the band decided to form their own record label called MOON RECORDS. The record was recorded at Eastern Sound Studios in 1973 and remixed in Toronto by Terry Brown. Only 3,500 copies were ever pressed world-wide before RUSH hit the big time by securing a record contract with Mercury Records. This great album was then re-issued on the more common blue MERCURY label. The original MOON RECORDS pressing

has the RED coloured RUSH logo. The later pressings on MERCURY and ANTHEM have the more familiar pink RUSH logo!!!

Vinyl description:

The thick vinyl I would describe visually as good. The pale blue labels are free from any writing or vandalism, although there are a few spindle marks, (see photos). If looking for flaws in the disc, there is a scratch mark on the first track of side B, “What You’re Doing”, where it is possible to hear light popping. During quiet parts of both side A & B, (and there aren’t many!), it is possible to hear very light crackling, very typical of vinyl play, but none of the light surface marks significantly affect the playing quality or interferes with the listener’s enjoyment. All tracks play through nicely. These light surface marks, typical of any vinyl of this age, are purely cosmetic. In fact there is very little noise to interfere with the music. Audibly this album sounds fantastic on a good turntable, and in my opinion is a much more raw and organic sound than the thinner vinyl used in later pressings. Best played at maximum volume!

Sleeve description:

The sleeve is typical of US and Canadian pressings of the time, made out of thick hard card, which is very tough and durable. The cover is very clean, and in very good condition for it age. There is NO writings or vandalism and the rear spine is also very clean. All lettering is perfectly readable. A fine example of this RARE classic rock LP. Obviously, with a record of this age there are some flaws, which include the lightest of ring wear, hardly noticeable. Also very minor rubbing and loss of colour from the top of the letters RUSH on the front cover.

If you are anything like me, you probably want to keep this record preserved in its cover. Being one of only 3500 copies world-wide, (and the number still in existence is likely much fewer than that), this record deserves a seriously good home to an authentic Rush record collector!!

I have, I trust, been very honest about the quality of this very RARE LP. The flaws described are accurate to a fault, and in my opinion do not really detract from this record being one VERY SPECIAL & VERY COLLECTABLE LP. If you have never owned one before, here is your chance!! They don’t come up very often and you will not be disappointed.
