Condition: The condition is accurately described as below:
Gatefold outer sleeve: this is record was ony ever released in a single sleeve across all pressings. Overall, I grade this sleeve as EXCELLENT condition in line with Record Collector grading model. Minimal wear and rubbing to the front and rear panels with very minimal creasing and indentation marks. The spine has minimal wear and minimal creasing, with all wording legible. The cover has no splits, rips or tears. This is a very respectable first pressing sleeve, it not museum condition!
Inner sleeve: delicate printed sleeve is in minimum VERY GOOD condition, with no rips or tears, and moderate yellowing and staining from being a 40-year-old inner sleeve! A couple of minor marks but nothing significant.
Vinyl record: This is thin, single disk vinyl album with the correct dark blue 'Mercury' labelling. The vinyl’s plays flat with only very minor warping. The labels are in VERY GOOD (+) condition and harshly graded. Whilst not damaged, numerous spindle marks are visible which suggests that this is a well played copy. Vinyl surfaces match the label grading, with a nice deep shine, with moderate and numerous hairlines and minimal scuff marks. I have played this superb pressing all the way through. and on my Rega 6 system is played with no pops, jumps and minor static 'Jacobs Ladder'. Superb copy and one that I have no hesitation in overall grading visually VERY GOOD (+) condition, but audio condition a strong excellent!
Overall, I would say that this would be a great 'play copy' of an early press of this 1980 breakthrough album for Rush. This is not an 'upgrade copy' and one designed to be well loved and played loud!
Rarity: superb album getting rarer as an early press, UK version.
