We have been going through some of our old Rock, Soul, Jazz, Punk and R&B vinyl records and are proud to offer up on Ebay this week this excellent condition still sealed copy of Rush’s 1982 Masterpiece “Signals.”

Signals was the much anticipated ninth album by Rush, as it followed up the blockbuster 1981 album Moving Pictures. Rush had begun to experiment with synthesized technology as early as 1977's A Farewell to Kings, when bassist and lead vocalist Geddy Lee played short synth parts. On subsequent albums the band slowly implemented more electronics, such as foot pedal triggers, to explore more complex arrangements while maintaining their core sound.

On Signals, the band brought the synthesized sounds to the forefront, ushering in a new sound for the band which they would explore through the rest of the 1980s. Unlike those later albums, however, this album maintains a rock edge tinged in various sub-genres, which make it a unique and interesting listen. Guitarist Alex Lifeson is still very strong on this album as far as providing the predominant musical melodies.

“New World Man” became a surprise hit single for the band, peaking at #21 on the Billboard charts, the band’s highest charting single and only top 40 ‘hit” in the US. The Analog Kid, Chemistry, and Digital Man shine with emotion and technical brilliance, especially during the solo sections.

As one would expect, the music is truly progressive. Rush blended elements of reggae and electronics into heavily technical rock whilst still retaining their own identity. This simply illustrated just how singularly unique and individual a band they were at that time and arguably still are.

The album itself reached #10 on the Billboard album charts and was certified Platinum within two months of its release. The band then embarked on the biggest tour to date, criscrossing North America, Britain, and West Germany to support Signals through 1983.

Sprawling, dense, and timeless, Signals remains an absolute Rush classic.

This album is a genuine, USA-made product, a relic of a bygone historical era in American music and our shared cultural heritage. It is not only a terrific musical and artistic artifact but also a solid investment whose value is likely to increase over time. Sealed copies of this album are hard to find.

RECORD COVER GRADING:

This record is still sealed and in great shape. The cover artwork is still fresh, clear and sharp. The colors are full and bright. There are no serious manufacturing defects. There is no fading or discoloration. There is virtually no ring wear. No cut-out corners, No drill marks or indents, No dirt or dust spots, No stains, No writing. The corners are relatively sharp.

VINYL RECORD GRADING: (NOTE: records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!)

As this album is still sealed, the Vinyl should be in excellent perfect condition.

This record was pressed on beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was typically used for the very first pressings and promotional items. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, exceedingly vivid, and dramatic. This record should play fine without any surface noise as it‘s never been opened..
