LIMONADA - S/T / SONDOR  33.111 / 1970 / 

Up for sale RARE original one & only lp by this Uruguayan beat psych combo. 

Flimsy flip back jacket is nice VG++, it looks clean with just mild wear, no splits, date written on front, tiny tear off on back, looks fine. 

Disc is a nice VG++ too, glossy surface shows lite thin hairlines & sleeve scuffs that are purely cosmetic, record plays really fine all through with loud, clear sound, clean labels. This is a real nice copy of a hard to find item that barely turns up and when it does it's generally pretty worn & beaten. 

The present copy I'm currently selling used to be my own personal copy I kept for the last 15 years, I've been now lucky enough to get a slightly better one to keep with me.. and that's the only reason while I'm letting it go. Many copies of this same album have passed through my hands all these years but this one I'm offering now did always remain the best.... It is a real nice keeper copy indeed!!

Excerpt of liner notes on the Lion Productions' reissue lp. "The story starts with the end of El Kinto, when band leader and iconoclastic maniac Eduardo Mateo decided to embark on a solo career, and the other members of El Kinto said “let’s do something together”. And so it was that in the middle of 1970, Limonada recorded their one and only album, “LimoNada” (Sondor 33.111). It is a strange record, with backwards tape splices, abrupt song changes, yet at the same time it is absolutely accessible and very groovy, in a Tropicalia sort of way, which might explain why it was an immediate success. In truth, it’s a profound mystery why the Limonada LP—one of the ten best sellers of its time within three weeks of its release—seems to have vanished from the consciousness of even the most devoted fans of obscure music ...."
