Description
First of all, there's a long and close history to Rachmaninoff's close connections with the Philadelphia Orchestra under both Stokowski and Ormandy. Rachmaninoff actually dedicated his Symphonic Dances to the Philadelphians and to Ormandy. Next, Ormandy is an exquisite interpreter of Rachmaninoff - - the composers post modern return to romanticism simply compliments Ormandy's lush "Philadelphia strings" in an ideal partnership. But what is really stupendous about this particular offering is that even though the outer cellophane wrap is missing, there's an inner sleeve that has never been opened. It's still sealed. This album has never been played! Look closely at the last two photos - - one can read the words "Tear Here" on the untorn Liner and can see the still intact perforation dots where they pass over the black vinyl - - having never been torn open. Check my newly listed offers and keep checking back as I have been putting up some very Pristine LPs and will be adding more. Thank you!
