One of the things this GREAT Weekly pop music countdown show, Countdown America! Starring Dick Clark,   that most distinguished it was the name Dick Clark.  Dick has been involved in countdown shows since his American Bandstand days when on Saturday nights he had a half hour countdown show and he did countdowns every day on his daily show.  He then added the radio syndicated version, Dick Clark's National Music Survey which I sell every show I list they are so good.  Then, in 1985 he left Mutual and went to his United Stations roots (he helped found the company) and began this version of countdown, Countdown America! Starring Dick Clark.  The theme is not much different from his National Music Survey days, in fact it is almost the same.  It just covers the rest of the 80's and into the 90's.      Attach Dick's name to any syndicated show and you will have millions of listeners.  Dick is known for his expertise in rock music, having been in on the ground floor of rock and roll, and his style is unmatched.  Even now millions tune in just to see HIM on New Year's Eve - not to put down Ryan Seacrest, but Dick IS New Year's Eve and always will be.  Now, this show is one of his earliest ventures into pop music survey shows and goes all the way back to  the early 80's.  It was a FOUR hour Top  30 Countdown on four BEAUTIFUL stereo virgin vinyl rcords that look like the day they were pressed.  This baby was played once and once only, the day it was aired.  The records themselves are very attractive  and the album they are housed in is very attractive as well and in very good condition.      The cue sheets are in very good condcition and are quite attractive and a nice addition to the package.     .  Most of the shows also have a cover sheet with the cues with programming information and another sheet with more programming information.    This is truly a vintage and special show and belongs in your collection.  Dick not only played the top 30 every week but   had many interviews, flashback songs from previous years,  showcase artists,   and more.  The national commercials are included on this show and believe me, from 20 years ago, they are fun to hear again.  We have come a long way, baby!   This lot contains 8 of these great shows.  I will list for you the show numbers and air dates and featured spotlight artists of each show along with the featured flashback year of each show.  Show #194 from July 15, 1989 featuring Paul McCartney in the spotlight and the year 1982;    #200 from August 26, 1989 with spotlight artist Miami Sound Machine and feture year 1986,  #208 from October 21, 1989 with spotlight artist Tony Orlando and Dawn and feature year 1987;  #216 from December 16, 1989 featuring Dionne Warwick and feature year 1988;  #211 from November 11, 1989 with spotlight aritst Poco and theme year 1984,  #148 from August 27, 1988 with spotlight artist Whitney Houston and feature year 1985; Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed.  So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show ever.  How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess.  but you can own one of them!!!              Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs that only  Dick Clark  can provide.  Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows  I offer to you are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere.  It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.  As well, it is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)  I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will because I tried to get the entire collection of this syndicated show.  I almost made it but then the sources dried up.  The dj from whom I bought the ones I had left the station,  and subsequent ones I bought were hit or miss in terms of what I had or did not have.  I finally gave up.  I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices.  Those I do not sell, I will just keep!  Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 25-30 years later they sound good!                                       Included on this show are                         Volkswagenk,                                 Frito Lays,                               Goodyear,                             AT&T,                      Dr Pepper,                               Wrigley Gum,                        and more.      As you can see, only the Best National Advertisers, paid their money to advertise on this show.                     In fact, some people buy the shows for the commercials  they collect!                 Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection.  As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers and discount the shipping for my international friends,  so the more you buy the more money you will save.  Good Luck and God Bless You.
