Description
1 double sided 16 inch Lacquer Radio Transcription Disc The Pickard Family - Audition or Program # 1 - January 29 1946
This program is the first with the entire family reunited following WWII. The beginning goes through a brief sponsor history of the family including 7 years for Consolidated Drug Trade Products (John Brinkley and the Mexican border-blasting station XERA). Judging by this intro, I would assume that this is an audition (pilot) recording, but it could also be the first program of a series. The program is narrated by Dad Pickard and includes the following songs:
NELLY BLY ON THE BANKS OF THE WABASH, FAR AWAY SALLY GOODIN HAVE I STAYED AWAY TOO LONG THE PICTURE ON THE WALL
SWEET ABELINA ALONG THE NAVAJO TRAIL BEAUTIFUL BUXOM BETSY PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOR
Some slight scratches, Nice sounding.
This will be shipped insured Media Mail. Check my other listings for current and future transcription offerings.
