Description
Rainbow (Ritchie Blackmore) : On Stage Special Edited Versions with Conversations from Australia Orig Promo 1977 vinyl album.
Polydor/Oyster 2808 010 010
This official promotional album package was released in 1977 and comprised:
Plastic wallet sleeve.
Promo Bio insert sheets.
Black and White promo photo of Ritchie, Ronnie and Cozy.
These were pressed in very limited numbers and are now becoming increasingly hard to find.
When originally bought (new) was played at most twice!! then filed away in their polythene sleeves on a shelf…only to now surface.
Visual inspection reveals disc in fairly good condition with no obvious significant flaws, fair number hairline marks more so on side 2, finger smudges..would rate as probably good condition to be on the safe side.. No spindle wear.
Please see the photos.
The outer plastic sleeve is in overall good nick with main issue being distorted and torn front bottom left hand front clear vinyl plastic pocket..would imagine this held Record Co/pluggers business card at time of issue?
The original card sleeve and bag are both in very good condition, no splits, some minor edge and corner scuffing minor creasing in a couple of places:
Selling on behalf of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.
I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!
Important perspective info, please read….thanks ?
.
A few words about the vinyl grading.
I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.
Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection , (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.
As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.
Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).
The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!
When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up ?
).
Any questions or if you need more photos please ask.
If you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback as my intention is to give you the e-bay buying experience that I myself would want, i.e. customer satisfaction all round.
