This is a rare and collectible gospel bluegrass treasure: Clinch Mountain Gospel by Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys, released in 1977 on Rebel Records (SLP 1571). Even more special, this LP jacket is signed on the front cover by Jack Cooke, the legendary bassist and longtime member of the Clinch Mountain Boys.
A powerful blend of traditional gospel songs and bluegrass arrangements, this album features standout performances by Ralph Stanley and a stellar lineup including Keith Whitley, Curly Ray Cline, Renfro Proffitt, and Jack Cooke himself. From the mournful "Oh Death" to the joyous "Over in the Gloryland," this LP delivers the heartfelt, high-lonesome gospel sound that defined Stanley’s legacy.
